In-Tube Solid-Phase Microextraction Directly Coupled to Mass Spectrometric Systems: A Review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Since it was introduced in 1997, in-tube solid-phase microextraction (in-tube SPME), which uses a capillary column as extraction device, has been continuously developed online coupled to LC systems SPME-LC). In the last decade, new couplings have evaluated on basis of state-of-the-art instruments, including direct coupling SPME MS/MS systems, without chromatographic separation, for high-throughput analysis. In-tube possible thanks selectivity coatings and (SRM mode). Different types columns (wall-coated open-tubular, porous-layer sorbent-packed, porous monolithic rods, or fiber-packed) with selective stationary phases increase sorption capacity SPME. This review focuses principle, configurations, current advances experimental parameters, coatings, applications different areas (food, biological, clinical, environmental areas) over years.

Solid-phase microextraction: a powerful sample preparation tool prior to mass spectrometric analysis.

Sample preparation is an essential step in analysis, greatly influencing the reliability and accuracy of resulted the time and cost of analysis. Solid-Phase Microextraction (SPME) is a very simple and efficient, solventless sample preparation method, invented by Pawliszyn in 1989. SPME has been widely used in different fields of analytical chemistry since its first applications to environmental...

Automated Analysis of Oxytocin by On-Line in-Tube Solid-Phase Microextraction Coupled with Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry

A simple and sensitive method for the analysis of oxytocin was developed using automated on-line in-tube solid-phase microextraction (SPME) coupled with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS). Oxytocin was separated within 3 min on a Zorbax Eclipse XDB-C8 column, with water/methanol (10/90, v/v) as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 0.2 mL min−1. Electrospray ionization condi...

Evaluation of Carbon Nanotubes Functionalized Polydimethylsiloxane Based Coatings for In-Tube Solid Phase Microextraction Coupled to Capillary Liquid Chromatography

In the present work, the performance of carbon nanotubes (c-CNTs) functionalized polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) based coatings as extractive phases for in-tube solid phase microextraction (IT-SPME) coupled to Capillary LC (CapLC) has been evaluated. Carboxylic-single walled carbon nanotubes (c-SWNTs) and carboxylic-multi walled carbon nanotubes (c-MWNTs) have been immobilized on the activated surf...

Solid phase microextraction.

Solid Phase Microextraction (SPME) uses a small volume of sorbent dispersed typically on the surface of small fibres, to isolate and concentrate analytes from sample matrix. After contact with sample, analytes are absorbed or adsorbed by the fibre phase (depending on the nature of the coating) until an equilibrium is reached in the system. The amount of an analyte extracted by the coating at eq...

Automated in-tube solid phase microextraction coupled with HPLC-ES-MS for the determination of catechins and caffeine in tea.

A polypyrrole (PPY) coated capillary and several commercially available capillaries (capillary GC columns) were used to evaluate their extraction efficiencies for catechins and caffeine. Compared with commercial capillaries that were currently used for in-tube solid phase microextraction (SPME), the PPY coated capillary showed better extraction efficiency for all of the compounds studied. Elect...
